'Dreadful', 'refund please': Here's how Everton FC have left some fans fuming. The Toffees website streamed the second string's Premier League International Cup game but here's why some supporters were left feeling short-changed.
On Wednesday night, Everton's Under-23s were in Premier League International Cup action against Bayern Munich II.
The illustrious fixture, played out at Goodison Park, saw the Toffees second string face their counterparts from one of the giants of world football.
David Unsworth's side unfortunately fell to a 4-1 defeat, with the visitors taking the lead through a Tyias Browning own goal in the first half for a 1-0 deficit.
Everton, however, did manage to equalise in the second half, Nathan Broadhead pulling a goal back with just 12 minutes left to play.
Bayern's class ultimately prevailed as Marvin Cuni established the Bundesliga side's lead three minutes later.
Finally, a late salvo from Jeong Woo-yeong and Kwasi Okyere Wriedt added gloss to the visitors' scoreline, perhaps harshly given the Toffees played well enough and enjoyed a healthy amount of chances.
Such a result would surely prompt criticism from some of the losing side's fans, but there was very little, if any, on social media after the final whistle.
However, much of the Everton faithful's ire relating to the game stemmed from a more technical issue, namely the club site's match broadcast, as shared on their Twitter page.
Here is some of the reaction on the issue, with some Toffees fans making their feelings known on Twitter:
Is the Mars rover doing this stream lads, bloody hell.
For a club that is so brilliant with things like EITC, why is EFC so incompetent at delivering a live-stream? @ToffeeTVEFC @TheBlueRoomEFC
Is there an issue with the stream? Keeps freezing
Put it on YouTube ffs
Stream is dreadful, better picture from Mars
I can't remember the last time I watched a game without major problems. Waste of money.
Sorry it’s unwatchable refund please
