Hey guys, today I’m continuing my companion guide series with Hancock, the one and only ghoul companion in Fallout 4. In this video we’ll discuss how to get Hancock, what his SPECIAL stats look like, how to max out his affinity, and the effectiveness of his companion perk. Let’s start with some brief background info on Hancock – which may include some spoilers, so proceed with caution. John Hancock was originally a human, of course, and his birth name was John McDonough, which should sound familiar because he is actually the brother of Diamond City’s mayor McDonough. Before he was a ghoul, he decided to leave Diamond City because his brother banished all ghouls. That decision resulted in the deaths of several innocent ghouls, so Hancock decided to leave Diamond City and travel to Goodneighbor. Before Hancock became the mayor, Goodneighbor was ruled by a mob boss named Vic. John found the clothes of the real John Hancock from American history and decided to overthrow Vic with an armed militia. After that he secured his position as mayor of Goodneighbor. Sometime after he took over Goodneighbor, John used an experimental radioactive drug and that turned him into a ghoul. And that’s when the Sole Survivor comes around. Enjoy!
